Deaf Media Resource


Welcome to the Deaf Media Resource website. The site aims to provide information and inspiration for deaf people who are interested in a career in the Media.
The site has been developed as a partnership between Zebra Uno Ltd and Hi8us Midlands Ltd. We will be continuing to further develop the site over the coming months as we progress with our new workshops.

YOUR CHANCE TO SHOW THE WORLD THAT YOUR DAD IS WACKY!

Our dad is champ off the wall! Here is your chance to share the fun & wackiest dad you have. Hawk Relay is hosting their 2nd annual Father’s Day black & white photo contest,
“My Wacky Dad”.

The photo contest is good for students to participate and express their creativity in black & white photos showing their dad’s wackiness. Photos will be posted on Hawk Relay’s website for everyone to chuckle some laughs and vote. Last year’s winners were the brothers; Caleb, Sebastian and Tristan Gunderson. Being the lucky winners, they received $150 dollars and another $150 dollars was donated to Rocky Mountain Deaf School. There will be three separate winners, High school, Middle School & Elementary School students, and they will each win $150 dollars. Another $150 dollars will go to winners’ choice of charities. All participants will receive a free T-shirt.

How will the winner be picked? The contestant with the most votes from the public will win. Be sure to check out the crazy, funny & wackiest photos and give your vote between May 14th and June 11th!

HAWK RELAY 2nd ANNUAL, “MY WACKY DAD” WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

Sioux Falls, SD — June 20, 2008 — A son posed with his father with a hamburger on his head. A daughter is clowning off with her father. A father acted like a world strongest man with his daughter.

These are just a few of the appealing images that captured the attention of public voters as winners of the Father’s Day photo contest. Two students took home prizes for their creativity. The 2nd Annual contest, sponsored by Hawk Relay, showcased the talents of a new generation. The students were challenged to create striking photo revealing their wacky Fathers.

The winners were chosen with the highest votes generated by the public. All entrants were winners as well. They will receive a free T-shirt. The winning entries can be viewed at: http://mywackydad.hawkrelay.com.

Skyler Morford, from Irvine, California, won for the "Elementary" category. Skyler’s photograph included a wacky father who had huge teeth and posing with 2 children in humor way. Skyler will receive $150 dollars and another $150 dollars will be given to his choice of charity.

Savannah LeFors, who hails from St. Augustine, Florida, won the “Middle School” category. Savannah’s photograph showed her siblings and herself in a circle with their father holding a sign, “Another one due in August, Gender unknown”. Savannah becomes one of the lucky recipients to win $150 dollars. Savannah’s choice of charity was Anchor Faith; they will receive $150 dollars as well.

Hawk Relay would like to thank the participants for making the contest possible and it was amazing to see such group of enthusiastic & creative students. See you again next year for the 3rd Annual “My Wacky Dad” contest.
